Centennial Park in Waikiki
This new City and County Park in the “heart” of Waikiki is thus far 100% funded by the Rotary Club of Honolulu. Located between Seaside Avenue and Royal Hawaiian Avenue, behind the Royal Kuhio Condo along Kuhio Avenue was a vacant lot for some 30+ years and used to store equipment and materials for various projects in Waikiki. But now, a much welcomed “open green space” with Coco palms and other native trees and palms. Shade canopy Monkey pods, Bombax trees for seasonal color and almost an acre of lawn with meandering walkways. It’s a 2 phased project that will be completed in a few years, 2024-2025. Photos are from 2021 and renderings provided depicts the park in 25 years.
